[R129 SL] 96 SL600- ADS light?

Hi,
I have a recurring problem with this light coming on intermittently. This is 
the light under the speedo that looks like a shock absorber with an eliptical 
arrow on either side. As far as I can tell the Adpative Damping System is 
working ok. When I turn the ign off and then on again the light goes out but 
eventually come on again. Does anyone have any experience with this system. 
I'm trying to avoid going to the dealer to have them "investigate". Thanks,
