Well, we "were" planning to shear before lambing, however it appears our
ram had earlier plans. Tom found our first baby this morning when he went
out to feed.

Louise
you tell a horse.
you ask a donkey.
and you negotiate with a mule.

That's surprising that the water would be warm enough for frogs!

I run the water from the creek through a couple of five gallon buckets,
some pvc, and a bunch of garden hose. It runs all the time. We don't get
as cold here, of course, but I sure appreciate having running water for
the sheep when it's 15 degrees out.

Not not yet. Just planning ahead. For the second time this year we'll be
doing our own shearing, but this year we will be investing in some proper
shears. I would like to poll the group as to preferences here, who uses
electric, who uses clippers, and which make of either do you swear by? (or at?).
