[Jacob-list] introducing myself, general sheep questions

Hello Everyone! My name is Paige Bowser, and soon I will be the proud momma
to my first two Jacob ewes. I am purchasing them from Fay, who lives near
me. I am very excited!

I have several questions:

Can I use hay sacks for the sheep - like they use for horses, or do you
think their horns would get in it?

What clippers do you use, have you ever used old fashioned "squeeze"
clippers....I don't know what to call them. I know Oster Clippers are nice
but they are so dang expensive. I know I can get someone to clip them for
me, but I enjoy a challenge, and don't like to depend on anyone for
anything. (except my dear husband of course)

Does anyone have crimson clover planted? How are sheep on this, we will
plant ours mid september because the soil here is so run down and it needs a
little pick me up.

I know jacobs are hearty, but I lived in a barn with foo foo horses and
can't help but think that the sheep will colic or something crazy like
that. What books would you reccomend? I like to know how my animals work
on the inside, as well as outside!

Thats all I can think of for now, I appreciate your help! Oh by the way,
I'm 22 and have a husband, 2 dogs, 2 chickens, and 5 cats, no children. I
make soap, and can't wait to start spinning wool!
