Good Morning - I have our lambs up on the website now - www.kenleigh-acres.com under Jacob Sheep and under 2005 lambs. I am really excited about all of the color we are seeing this year. Unfortunately we have one with a little bit too much color. She has the beautiful HST (head socks tail) pattern that Shetland breeders love :) She is the 4th lamb down. We are seeing a lot more girls this year, opposite from the last two years when we had a lot more boys.

We had another ewe lamb this morning and it did not go as well as everyone else. I went out early this morning and found her standing in the lambing corner (everyone chooses this corner to lamb) unfortunately she had top of a head sticking out and was having trouble - she had been that way for a while and she wasn't even having contractions. My husband came out and we had to pull the lamb. Her elbows were locked back against her shoulders, so her feet were even with her nose. To make things worse she is a HUGE lamb - almost 11 lbs. We both thought for sure she was dead, so our main concern was getting her out. My husband finally got one of her legs out and that freed everything up and she came out pretty quickly after that. To our astonishment she started hacking and coughing - she was alive!!! We quickly grabbed a towel and got her cleaned up and mom started cleaning her up as well. Both mom and baby seem to be doing ok. I gave the mom some banamine, Nutridrench, and a dose of antibiotics. This is the first time we have had to help and I have always been concerned about whether we would know what to do or not and I think we did an ok job - phew!

Hope everyone has a good day!
