Many shows restrict entries to "lambs" and
"yearlings". Those shows that allow "aged" ewes and
rams often will have a limitation.
We've shown 2, 3, and even a 5-year-old ram at two
September shows here in NJ. I've found that if you
halter-break Jacobs as lambs, they'll take quite
easily to the halter (and the show ring) in succeeding
years. We've not had any problems showing our aged
Jacobs.
The "beauty" about showing an aged ram is their
spectacular horn development!
