Context is important ... Obsessive Compulsive Disordeer for some ...
occipital condylar dysplasia which is a congenital defect describing unequal sized or
shaped condyls which are near the "first vertebrae" at the atlanto-occipital
"joint". The signs are generally noted in lop-sided neck carraige (like head
bent or carried to one side) and no other apparent behaviors in mild cases to
ataxia at the extreme.
The cases of hind limb problems reported by two or three breeders more
probably are birth problems which seem to increase in frequency with twin births and
possible pre-natal entanglements of the dveloping lambs as well as injury to
spine during birthing.
A very quick check for OCD, which is reported as familial, is to examine any
skulls for the unequal condyls when you pick up the "extras" at the abatoir.
I have also taken advantage of an invention by Mrs. Curie and have had
various parts of live sheep pictured by something called an Xray machine. It sort
of depends on one's curiosity.
