[Jacob-list] Question about Lilacs?????

Some of my lilacs are obviously lilac from the moment they are born--others 
surprise me--I'm not sure if it means anything or not.  It seems like the ones 
that look black at birth are darker lilac at maturity, but maybe that's my 
imagination.  I've posted a few pictures with a little commentary at
