Sheep will behave in this basic manner (can't say I have ever worried about doing Heimlich maneuvers or any interventions though) when they make pigs of themselves at the food bowl with grain. It usually stops their intake as they spend the rest of feeding time resolving their own problem. Watch for lots of foam and slobber filled with grain coming back and all over the ground. They often buck and kick and carry on like they are going to die. Haven't had one do it yet. It seems like they also don't learn from their mistakes either....just fyi.
