Milkweed is poison, and usually, sheep don't find them tasty, thank God.  If their pasture gets low, they will sometimes be tempted, and end up with diarrhea, at the least, death possible, but unlikely, I'm told.  MIlkweed need to be pulled from pastures, or mown down, which makes it difficult for them to spread, which they mostly do by seed, though can underground, not as easily or prolifically.
