Hi Mary,
How awful to hear of your high coyote losses.  We have 4 guard llamas now.  
We move them around as needed and occasionally put two together in our 
larger, more vulnerable pastures.  We've not found having two llamas together 
to be a problem (once they get aquatinted).  They still round the sheep up 
when concerned and will run together toward anything they think is 
threatening the sheep.  Several llamas would definitely have a better chance 
of winning against a pack of coyote than a lone llama would.  It's also 
important for the guard llama(s) to have 'guarding' instincts - not all of 
them do.
