[Jacob-list] Raising a ram

I've read all sorts of advice on what not to do when raising a breeding  ram, 
 but does anyone have suggestions on what TO do ?  I have a nice ram lamb 
that I expect to keep for awhile and would like to do things right.  He is 
gentle so far,  he's pastured with the ewes, and I mostly ignore him.  The 
ewes like to visit and be scratched when I'm in the pasture and the ram just 
hangs back and watches.  When he comes up to sniff me and see what's going 
on,  I just keep talking to the ewes and pay no attention to him.  He's too 
young to be aggressive yet, but what should I do if he does?  Robin Casasanto
