Hi all,
I tried the grid paper on about 10-15 animals a few years back and also did
an eye-ball look at the same sheep. I came out something like 1% variance
(averaged the positive and negative differences, which were not far off but
either direction of the grid numbers) in coloring. I guessed on the
coloring of all the animals first, mixed them up and then started on the
grid paper. I don't know if others would have the same sort of success. I
was personally astounded at how close I came, but decided that for me, it
wasn't worth the hastle and eye strain of the grid if I was "so good"
eyeballing it. My individual animal variance was in the 5-10% range, but I
had one that was something like 20% off.
