I didn't know they had Masses at night on Thursday. What do you mean "we" white man? Who in the world could have persuaded you to attend Mass? I went to a midnight Mass there one Christmas. It was SRO. We walked out when the bishop's sermon somehow laced the birth of the baby Jesus with abortion phobia.
The Cathedral on the inside resembles St. Louis Catholic Church in Castroville in which I was married. It would have been one of Texas' Painted Churches but some inferior desecraters (AKA architects,) not knowing how to apply $250,000 allocated to "rehab" the building built-to-last-250-years, slate roof and all, decided to give the interior a fresh coat of paint. The original frescos appear in one of my wedding pictures.
Best,
Frances

Had never been inside so interesting to look around.
Voices plus viola da gamba, portative organ, and bass lute. The occasionally
heard timbres and sonorities of the instruments made it magical. The Requiem
Mass was composed by a student of Monteverdi named Cavalli.
