We went to a Mass at St. Mary's catholic church on 10th & Brazos last night. Had never been inside so interesting to look around. Voices plus viola da gamba, portative organ, and bass lute. The occasionally heard timbres and sonorities of the instruments made it magical. The Requiem Mass was composed by a student of Monteverdi named Cavalli.
