Helmer has been seriously ill for a number of years and is very recently on
the mend so I hear. I will contact Pat Brown or Gilbert Shelton, old
rangeroos and see if they have email or snail mail for him and post it here
if I get it.

Texas Cavers,
I work with a guy who lived across the hall from Bill Helmer at UT in the
50s. He knows several good Helmer stories. Helmer was an active Texas
caver back then. He went on to be a writer for Playboy magazine. My work
associate would like to communicate with him. Helmer's not an NSS member.
Does anyone have an address for him?
