Subject: [R129 SL] SL500 Interior Trim repair

R129 Enthusiasts -

A piece of interior trim from the passenger side door fell off of my
2000 SL500 yesterday. It is the triangular cover in the inside corner of
the window where the side mirror attaches to the door. It is inside the
car. There is a plastic post extending from the inside of the triangle
trim piece that tethers into a female connector in the door. That
plastic post broke off of the trim piece, it is still in the female
connector. The two tabs at the bottom of the trim piece are intact, it
is just the post that failed.

Can you suggest a fix?

Thanks,

Mark D.
