[R129 SL] Ride Height

Hello everybody. My 1992 300SL24 passed its two-yearly 'controle' yesterday but the mechanic pointed out an anomaly on the ride height control. Apparently, when the switch is pressed only the front of the car is raised! Any ideas out there? What exactly is the mechanism which raisesthe ride height - I assume it's hydraulic but, if so, where is the fluid reservoir? Any help gratefully received. Frank, France.
