I¹ve struggled with this the last two replacements times.

I, too am past the hot rod stage.  I¹ve been very happy with Yokohama Avid
4S tires.  I¹ve been very happy with them.  I¹ve been tempted to get the
Michelins as originally specified, but after using the tire rack¹s Tire
Decision Guide , I¹ve always come back to the Yokos.
