[R129 SL] r129 sticky window

I have a '94  sl500 and suddenly the window jams when I lower it. I'm figuring that the drive mechanism is worn, but I can't get the door panel off , and am afraid to yank on it too much, for fear of cracking it. Can anyone advise how this is done. Also, does anyone have advise about the window mechanism.
