The wire gauge on the fog lights and high beams can handle the higher  
wattage with an upgraded fuse.
 
I am not certain if the newer fog lights use HID (high intensity discharge)  
/ or Xenon, if they do many times the wattage required is actually lower than  
original conventional bulbs as it a more "efficient" light.
 
I have not heard back from anyone yet on their experience with newer fog  
lites....god luck with yours.
