If your car has either been diagnosed as having failed/leaking hydraulic
cylinders, many of us owners have been using this cylinder rebuilder in KS, who
replaces the seals, machines/polishes the piston if necessary, reassembles and
tests the cylinder(s), warrants the work for 3 years, and turns them around
usually in 1 day after receipt. If the cylinder that's leaking is part of a
pair, i.e., front latches, even if only 1 is leaking, pull and send them both
as it's only a matter of time. Remember to check the hydraulic fluid level
in the pump under the spare tire in the trunk. You can safely use FEBI
brand hydraulic fluid, #02615, as it is the identical OE fluid used by MB-source,

Dennis charges around $35@ plus shipping and has done hundreds of these
things for owners and shops. He can also provide some assistance in how to get
the old ones out and rebuilt ones back in. If you've got a 129, save his
contact info...you'll need him sooner or later!

By the way, if anyone needs a pair of brand new front latch assemblies that
fit all 129's up to 2002, I've got a pair that you can have for 1/2 of
whatever today's price is from MB.
