[R129 SL] New to this board with a couple questions...

IF the dealer is offering a extended
MB warranty you might be ok.
If it's a "independent" warranty
company beware.

I've had a poor experience with
a "Penn Gold" warranty  on a
used SL.

They initally refused payment
on two claims , only to settle
many months later at about
half the cost of the repairs.
This involved much letter
writing , faxing , and  many
hours of phone calls on
my part ....just to get
them to do what they
were obglated to.

You may find that the
 max hourly rate they
will pay is much less
than the MB dealer
charges , or even a
good independent.
