[R129 SL] COSMETIC PLEASURES

I've just made the greatest discovery since sliced bread ........ Nivea 
Body Lotion !!!!!

In addition to my future classic (the 1990 500SL) I also have two 1953 
cars - an Alvis TC 21/100 DHC and a Sunbeam Talbot Alpine Mk I. The 
interior of the Alvis is ALL leather - the 4 seats, side panels, under 
dashboard etc. and I noticed that it was becoming dry with little lines 
forming if I pushed a finger into the leather - like my wife's face. So, 
following that dear lady's advice, I rubbed a whole flask of Nivea Body 
Lotion into the leather-work, leaving some on the surface in many 
places. Within a couple of hours, the lotion had disappeared and the 
seats were noticeably softer. A second flask went the same way the 
following day - by now the absorption rate had slowed but it all went in 
eventually and there was no residual stickiness - just a nice smell.

As the R129's and some of the earlier SL's have leather, I thought I 
would pass this on. The cost of this "specialised product" is far less 
from Walmart than the cost of neatsfoot oil or similar products.
