[R129 SL] SL500

Hilarious!  The EXACT same thing happened to me.  I was convinced the
lights were ALL working, yet it was indeed a licence plate bulb that was
intermittent, apparently causing the gremlin which has never returned.

I just had this on my car.

 

You check the lamps and THINK they are all working... but

For me it was ONE of the two rear license plate lamps that was out.

 

Easy to overlook without paying close attention.

I have a bulb warning light on in my 1998 SL500 (43,000 miles), all
bulbs seem to be working, after a period (say half an hour to an hour)
it usually goes out. Anyone 

come across this gremlin?
