[R129 SL] Hood Insulation

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on the hood insulation? I put a
new on about 2 or 3 years ago and probably have not driven 10,000 miles and
it is falling apart. They used the 3M spray glue which I wasn't real crazy
about, but they said there was no other way.
