Hi Cliff:

I also have a Roady2 in my car. Have you read the instructions carefully?

As I recall, they say to be sure the Roady antennae is as close as possible
to the car antenna.

I've been pretty happy with the sound quality of mine.

I threaded the antenna wire along the center console thru the rear of the
car, then under the soft top boot to the trunk. I leave the antennas on the
front lip of the trunk lid. This arrangement allows good reception, and
allows me to remove the antenna and leave it in the trunk if I ever go
through a car wash.

BTW I recently tried using the cassette adapter that came with the Roady2.
While it made a good audio connection, I was not happy with the quality of
the audio. The cassette adapter did work well with my son's iPod.

If anyone has an answer about directly connecting to the radio head, I would
also be interested.

Subject: [R129 SL] satellite radio in an older vehicle

I have a 1991 500SL and a Delphi Roady 2. I tried using the FM transmitter
built into the receiver, but this 2 piece radio is notorious for lousy FM
reception. Even when the transmitter is only 4 feet from the antenna.

1. Any advice on how to improve the radio reception of the Becker 2 piece
radio?

2. Any advice on how to directly connect the Roady 2's line level output to
this radio? I am not adverse to pulling the head, and modifying it somehow
if possible.

Thank you,
Cliff
