Hay George, long time no heard , or better say, now written about you.

Yesterday it was here in Holland so hot, 35 degrees Celsius.
The oil in the cylinders for the soft top hood was so hot and thin, that
the hood very slow came up.
At the end of the afternoon the car has stand in the sun, the top start
to refuse working.
I first must closed both the hooks at the windshield manually. Then I
started to drive with the top closed.
After some mile driving and chilling, I tried to open the top, and it
functions well.
At home standing in the shade it works normally, and this morning no
problems.

So I think the rubber seals in the softtophood cylinders are not closing
100% and with the hot thin oil ,
the oil escapes between the seals.
Does somebody know if it is easy to change the seals, or is the used oil
to thin?

My top used to do that, it is an alignment problem! Either help it on
when
it reaches the windshield (pull the top down manually onto the catches)
or get
it adjusted. I put up with it for 2 years, now its perfect!!

Unscrew the bolts from both hooks on the top a LITTLE, so that the hook
can move if it is pushed . Then let the top fall in to place. Reject the
top again and fasten the screws on that position.

I have a similar problem with my top, but it stops
just as the top is about to latch onto the windshield
header, if its cold outside it clicks in fine but
otherwise I have to take my finger off the switch wait
for it to settle then do it again and it catches. I
take it some adjustment is necessary but have no idea.
