I thought that the rear part of the R129 hood with the three
clear panels is sold separately from the rest of the hood.
If this is true and provided your original top hood is not
too discoloured, your nearest M-B dealer may provide a
solution.

Subject: [R129 SL] Convertable top rear window material

My SL500 soft top rear window got so discolored and bad
looking I finally carefully removed it and both rear side
windows entirely. Now I am on the hunt for the original, or
an improved material which I can cut to fabricate new
inserts to mount in the window spaces. The top itself is
original and excellent so I do not want, or need a
replacement. I have searched the web but found nothing so
far.

Has anyone been there and done that? Suggestions and leads
are appreciated.
