there are plenty of people on this site that like to talk rumour and
innuendo. Eg "a friend of a friend told me he heard the SL600 cost $$$ to
maintain" etc....best to solicit opinions from people that actually own
them. I have a 1996 SL600 that I've owned for 3 yrs. I do the oil changes
myself (simple) cleaned the plugs and air filters (also simple) and have
done a couple of small repairs that were age related (like replacing the
plastic rear window on the softtop). The car itself always runs perfectly,
in 3 years I have not had a single problem with it that I couldn't fix
myself (ie. very minor stuff). Any other Owners like to comment?
