If it is the whole cluster you wish to access, you have to pull the =
whole cluster out of the surrounding dash - it is a tight push fit and =
you need 2 'special' hooks which are available from MB, made from piano =
wire with handles. You push the hooked wire end between the cluster and =
the surround each about half way up the vertical sides of the cluster, =
turn the hooks thru 90 degrees so they catch on the side edges of the =
cluster and PULL. Not very high tech but it seems to work OK on a number =
of MB models.
Hope you get the idea

Can anyone give my any tips on removing the instrument cluster for =
updating the gauges? Is there a special tool that's madatory? I see a =
removal tool on e-bay - just don't know if I need it.
THanks
Adam
