You are right - Toyota builds great stuff. Boring, but superior build =
quality. I was mostly talking about that thing that makes a Mercedes a =
Mercedes. The same goes for a Porsche or Ferrari, etc. - there's =
something inherent about the way they were put together. I bought my =
wife a 2000 Isuzu Trooper with all the bells & whistles and it's been a =
fantastic vehicle. We put 180K miles on her other one. No snob here =
either, but I don't think joining the Toyota Camry Club has the same =
pizzazz as the MBZ club! So, there you go....
Cheers,
GC

What's wrong with Toyota? BTW, Lexus and Infiniti now own the JD =
Powers reports, whatever that's worth, but remember, MB used to always =
brag about being at the top of this report. So when they fall down to =
20th, or whatever it is, suddenly the report has no value? Interesting.
Toyota also now enjoys the limited depreciation that MB once did in =
the glory years, but does so no longer. That's what reliability and =
longevity do for you. When Toyota started building the Tundra and =
Sequoia in the States, quality and reliability didn't suffer one iota. =
MB surely cannot say that about the ML.
Even though I'm an MB owner, I am not a snob about Toyota, Honda, or =
Nissan. You gotta admit they build good stuff. Now the Koreans, that =
may take some time...

and keep it in beautiful condition in & out (people ask me if I ever =
drive it), but I assume most of us in this group are the same type of =
"car nuts". Don't get me wrong, I like some of the later '90 models, =
but they don't seem to have that Mercedes feel - they feel almost =
(egads!) Lexus-like! Give me that solid, powerful German feel anyday =
over an upscale Toyota!
