Hi everyone,
I have my Ferrari up for sale, and have received two calls so far,
one from California, one from North Carolina. In trying to get my ducks in
a row, I'm wondering how to go about doing a long distance transaction, and
maybe someone out there who has done one (or more) of these can advise me.
The only transactions of this type I've been involved in are one where I
was the buyer and I went up to British Columbia, and once where I was the
seller, and the buyer flew in to Arizona to drive the car back. Actually,
that happened twice, but no long distance "remote" buys or sells.

I would want payment via wire transfer (I have the routing number
of our bank), but then how would the buyer be sure to get the title and the
car once he/she has wired the funds? I've also heard (but have no
experience with) the driver of a car transporting vehicle being able to
transact the deal in some way. Also, am wondering about establishing an
escrow account for the transaction (???) and how that might work. I just
want to make sure both ends are covered fairly. I am not on paypal or any
kind of "e" commerce scheme.

Thanks very much,
Tom Reynolds
