MessageI don't recall for sure, and I'm in a different town than my '97 SL
at present, or I'd trot down to the garage and look.
I want to say it's on the console between the driver's-side window switch
and the driver's side bun-warmer switch. Little-bitty switch maybe 1 square
centimeter. But that'd be relying on my memory, and that's never a safe
bet.
But when I un-flipped it, the passenger seatbelt worked normally, so I know
it's somewhere. At least on my '97. Can't be sure on a '91.

No, there isn't one. How can there be? There are no rear windows.

Hi Richmond,
Where is this "kid-safe" switch is there one on a 1991 R129 500SL?

Is the "kid-safe" switch in the "enabled" or "disabled" mode? I was
irritated that my passenger-side seat belt would tension, but never loosen.
Turned out that the kid-safe switch was flipped over to "kid safe" mode.
Probably those car-wash guys. ;-)

Thanks for your reply Archie but it used to go down automatically with
a single hard press!
Cliff
-----Original Message-----
From: Archie Morgan
It's just a safety feature Cliff. It prevents a small child from
lowering the window all the way and perhaps climbing out all because of the
one touch of a button.

Can anybody tell me why my passenger side electric window does not
automatically go down when the button is pressed down hard then released, I
have to keep my finger pressed down on the switch otherwise the window stops
going down. I have changed the electric window switch but it is still the
same, any ideas!
