The other problem is that the MBUSA site doesn't give too much technical
info regarding rear axle ratios, transmission ratios, etc.

Thanks very much, Mike.  Good historical site, too bad they don't have
any "factory" performance figures or have the U.S. Government's fuel
economy stats.  Great to see how the prices varied, equipment, etc.
