Not sure why the washer pump keeps running but to fix the position of
the wiper arm, bend the arm forward (it is hinged at the end), take an
8mm socket and loosen the nut. Pull the wiper arm off of the shaft and
reposition. Tighten down the nut. Turn on the headlamps and wash the
windshield. The headlight wipers should engage. You may have to adjust
them a few times to get them correct.

Subject: [R129 SL] Headlamp Wiper Arm Removal

The headlight wiper arm stops beyond the "stop point" marker on the
headlamp. I can't figure out how to remove and/or reposition the arm.
Can anyone give me a few tips?

It seems that if that wiper arm stops outside the normal travel area it
keeps the headlamp washer pump running constantly---
