When I spent a week last summer driving in Cornwall and Devon I was
surprised at the narrow and twisty nature of many main roads away from trunk
roads. If you rent a car, get a small one with automatic gears.  Diesel is
good.  Philip.  When we went to Slovakia a local young woman with her own
car drove us all over the place and it was much better than driving myself
in a foreign country with incomprehensible road signs.  Some of the
arcitecture was brilliant.  Philip
