This is why it's better not to talk about the price, but talk about the time it 
takes to an "average worker" to earn the money to buy it.
If you go to China, or India, a middle class guy needs the same time as you to 
buy a camera (well not exactly, but close). If you look at china price with 
your westerner googles, it will seems cheap.. but not for Chineses...
You need to be rich to buy an entire building lot. Even if tag price is 50$. 
This means that you only have 2c into your pocket ;-)
