I made a brief stop there a few years ago. It is beautiful. 
Suggestions: there are spots on the road to the heads where you can frame 
them as you look thru a tunnel.  Parking might be a problem, along with 
traffic...but it is a great shot.
Custer State Park is pretty...lots of bison, rolling hills, etc.  The Dakota 
Badlands Nat'l Monument about 50 miles east is also dramatic.  Hit it early 
or late.
