I've used Lexol, armor all and renassiance wax on mine.  I'm pretty sure
they are leather, but lexol leaves the leather a bit tacky, so i follow wit=
h
Renassiance wax which is nothing more than Petrol based museum wax  aka
"microcrystiline wax"  The press photographers that will admit to actually
doing anything to their cameras used a GOOD shoe polish (usually gotten fro=
m
the shine boy on the corner)

If you can give me the serial number I know somebody that can give you a
better idea of when it was made.
