Vinyl is light tight, but suffers from rigidity in cold weather ( ain't cold in Bristol this time of year?) A double layer of heavy, really black cloth, might be sufficient. The stuff they asell "over here" is polyester with a layer of rubber inside. Also, that new ultrasuede material has gotten good review as being light tight, it is also supple and easy to work.
