[Jacob-list] JSBA Registrations

Late last week JSBA was notified that, effective October 31, 2017, JSBA's registrar accuRegister will "close its doors" and "no longer register sheep."   JSBA is working to identify a new registrar, but currently no firm plan is in place.  accRegister has agreed to process applications for registration (and other requests for service, e.g., transfer of ownership and duplicate certificates) that are postmarked by October 25.  Wool samples for rams for which applications are submitted online should also be postmarked by October 25 to ensure receipt at accuRegister by October 31.  Applications that are incomplete on October 31 will not be processed by accuRegister and face possible delays.  JSBA members who intend to register Jacobs this fall are urged to prepare and submit their applications now or at least in time to meet the October 25 postmark date.  We realize that applications for ram lambs not yet 6 months of age on October 25 will have to be processed by our new registrar, when in place.

New Information on registration services will be distributed by JSBA's regional directors and posted here when it becomes available.  For now, please attend to the October 25 postmark date for applications sent to accuRegister or expect possible delays in processing your applications for registration.  JSBA regional directors are a good source of answers if you have questions.
