Interesting
. we breed by the calendar so I wouldn’t notice. But I wonder
if it is a response to the “early spring”? I’m glad that you’re following
it over the years.

Subject: [Jacob-list] Early breeding dates?

I realize that many Jacob breeders breed later in the year for later spring
lambs. I, however, let the ram run with the ewes year-around, so mine start
breeding as soon as the ewes start cycling. I record breeding (and lambing)
dates on an Excel worksheet, and this year I’ve noticed that, without
exception, the ewes have been coming in 1 ½ to 2 weeks earlier than their
usual dates. Anyone else notice this?
