[Jacob-list] Ear sores

I had a ram that was always getting sores as he would fight and pinch his ear in the fighting, then the flies would bother it, and it would fester.. i had good luck getting it to heal by applying SWAT the fy ointment for horses... I preferred to use the pink colored over the clear, as I could see when it had worn off.. where with the clear, I never knew when it had worn off.

Has anyone ever had a sheep that twitched her/his ear so much hitting the horns 
that it developed a sore? The bugs must be worse this year as I found this to be 
happening with a ewe that is 3 years old and this didn't happen last year. I 
sprayed it and wrapped it before I left for vacation but I doubt the wrap will 
last. Any suggestions?
