Good point about the stress on the ewe. I'd wondered about that myself.

I've expressed a bit of milk out of two of my ewes this year, and it was no
easy task -- I certainly wouldn't want to be doing that daily. A friend
with dairy goats showed me how to milk them out, and the difference was
like night and day. If we go the milk route it'll probably be with a goat.
