[Jacob-list] halters on Jacobs

We show, so many get halter training - the really good ones get to do parades, pageants at Christmas and nursing home visits along with the llamas.  I remember in the fall of 2005 a newbie came to buy a ram for 2 ewes he had bought somewhere else (came from here originally) and we went out back and haltered the last fairs res Ch Jacob ram lamb and led him to the front area where we did paperwork and he lay down while we were doing that like a puppy!  He is no longer a puppy, but still lives on their farm and is a magnificent example of a Jacob ram.  When I go there, I still marvel at how great he looks - no more funny work for him - just taking care of his flock and being respectful to the other rams and bucks off-season and reasonably 'safe' around keepers.  This would be Shadowbrook Spangler - now, I am sorry I sold his dam to someone as he was the last from her.  His older sister still lives here (2004) and she had to do our pageants in 2007
because someone else bought all our 2H lambs that year  Now we have a ton of 2H 2008 girls and a few 2009 ones as the market here is still depressed for new people starting flocks.  (I try not to travel with 4H ewe lambs due to fragile horns until they get older, so the 4H girls do not get halter broke early, if at all)
