Oh boy now it is on youtube. Sad very sad. Linda is right it is not hunting, the jacob ram is obviously raised by humans therefore has no fear. It is sick, the people that do it are sick and sadly now you have it on you tube for everyone to see. Great PR for the Jacob Sheep.

To me, it's also not that much different from the stress for a sheep that goes to slaughter. As far as it being hunting? You got to be kidding!! When the killer (can't really call him the hunter) said "I love this sport", I was wondering just where the sport was. The ram was aware of the hunters and didn't run - just kept walking towards them to see who/what they were. Haven't yet had a deer walk up to me in the woods to see what I was doing.
I found it interesting that the ram was considered such an incredible trophy. He really didn't have very large horns for what looked to be his age.
He also didn't appear to a ram that I'd want to use on my flock. I don't think I'd turn down a good price for him to go to a canned hunt if he was my ram.
I sold an excellent proven ram to a man that said he was raising sheep and wanted my best ram and he paid a premium price. I later found out that he wanted him to butcher for a religious holiday. Talk about furious!

I dont like to see it... But I guess to me, it is not much different than a ram going to slaughter..... Not quite sure I would call it hunting though..... I guess I HAVE to take this approach about it, as I found out that a ram I sold our first year of owning Jacob's ended up hunted... I sold him to a person "Just getting started in Jacob sheep" only to find out that he was re sold within a week to a trophy ranch. He was a fancy young ram that had cool horns.... but related to all of my sheep..... I was initially furious..... But got to thinking about it, and I dont know if it is any worse than having their throats cut by the butcher......I haven't come to a conclusion on that......

I guess I just didn't expect this. I've attached a link to a youtube video of hunters on a hunting ranch shooting a 4h Jacob ram for sport. There are others on youtube as well. Well, I guess there are times when I would agree that my ram, Jericho, is fit to be shot, but not often. It's just kinda weird when you breed them as livestock and use their wool to see them being hunted like deer for sport. Just my opinion.
