This may be unnecessary, but after reading some of the posts, I was wondering if everyone knows that sheep of unknown backgrounds CAN be registered in both JSBA and JSC. You don't need to start with registered sheep to have registered sheep. Of course, when you start with unknown backgrounds, it is a good idea to carefully monitor offspring for crossbred signs. And obviously, you can also register sheep with known, but unregistered, backgrounds.  Sheep must pass an inspection process prior to registration - no matter what the background - registered, unregistered, or unknown. JSBA welcomes new members and new flocks into its membership and its registry.
