[Jacob-list] Thin ewe update

Hi Tom,
In hindsight, it might have been best to ship the dead rabbits for
diagnosis by a lab. Would've been easier than shipping an entire ewe. I
don't know where you send them in Canada. There are several diseases that
could spread from rabbits to sheep. Look into pseudorabies and Johne's
Disease on the Internet. Both are highly contagious. Pseudorabies is
usually associated with sick pigs; but older pigs can be carriers of the
disease. Johne's Disease is a wasting disease and the animals get thin,
diarrhea seems to be a symptom and your ewe didn't have that. Work closely
with your veterinarian.
Good luck,
Cathy
