I have over one hundred chickens, peafowl, guineas, turkeys, ducks, 
geese emus, etc that run with the sheep and goats.  The sheep wander off 
farther in the pasture during the day, but at night they are back in the 
barn with some of the birds roosting overhead.  Space is the main 
consideration.  If there is plenty of space, it becomes a very symbiotic 
relationship.
