[Jacob-list] Chicory

No, not the farm *smile*, but Ralene's post did remind me. Our local feed store (one of them) carries chicory seed. It's normally used around here for deer stands. While reading about chicory as a domestic livestock forage, I came across information that makes me wonder if it would be worth trying. What I've read says that it is pretty high quality. One article mentioned its use on dairy farms where it said the best utilization is a pure stand in a small area where the cows are only allowed to graze for a very short period each day and then moved on to other pastures.

Does anyone have any experience with using chicory as forage? Either as a pure stand or in a mix?
